ABOUT THE RESTAURANT:

Kiza, the restaurant that serves authentic pan African cuisine. This restaurant educates as well as entertains. It is the journey that engages your senses beyond taste, to the sights and sounds of Africa. The restaurant served dishes that the African community in the UAE might be missing from home, but also educate and introduce the the non-Africans to the cuisine of the continent, from North, to East, South and to West.

The importance of this restaurant is to educate the UAE's residents and open their eyes to something unique. They want the residents to tuck in and enjoy African culture, from food, art, music and to fashion.

As you enter the restaurant it is a journey of what Africa's like. You walk through the walls that hold Africa's most famous and traditional paintings. As you're walking you hear the traditional African instruments playing and right opposite the restaurant there is a bar where the band performs. The music playing is Afro-jazz.

The menu is filled with dishes spanning the continent. Dishes from all over Africa.

For food, I tried the West African classic egusi, which was a traditional, thickened, meat stew, served with yam. It was a full meal, filled with traditional rich flavors. I personally really enjoyed it and would definitely go for it again. The second main dish I had was Ayemase, which was a stew of mixed meats. it was hot, spicy and rich in authentic flavors.

Overall, I loved this place and what I enjoyed more than eating was learning about the background and about the overall culture of Africa. Definitely a place for culture lovers to visit!
