Indian Restaurant Review- Jodhpur- Royal Dining, Downtown Dubai- Al Murooj Rotana
About the restaurant:
Jodhpur, a new fine-dining, North-Indian cuisine restaurant, in Al Murooj Rotana in downtown offers the true taste of North- Indian food. It is a beautiful restaurant. You are able to get to the restaurant by a buggy once you have arrived the hotel or you can choose to take the long walk to the restaurant,
Jodhpur offers a very royal dining experience, as it also says in the name of the restaurant. From the ambience to the service it is a true royal dining experience!
The restaurant is spacious and everything in the restaurant makes it look grand, from furniture to the cutlery. This place makes you feel like you are sitting in one of the rooms of a royal palace. The well decorated ambience of the restaurant gives you the feeling of the Ancient Indian setting and reminds you of the era where India was once ruled by the royals.
About the food:
The menu had a wide range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options. We were offered many complimentary appetizers, meals and desserts.
For the starte they offered us a North-Indian puff pastry, called 'jeera khari' with herb yoghurt. Khari's are popular popular street foods in North India. They were placed on a miniature rickshaw. A rickshaw is a famous way of transport in India and it was there to remind people of their culture and roots.
The next thing that came in was their special, 'macaroon chaat', this is another popular street food. The macaroon was stuffed with tangy fillings, which gave a sweet, sour and crunchy feeling. It was too good and we just wanted more!
Main course:
For the main course we ordered Biryani, India's national dish! It was quite appetizing and served in a well presented way.
Then they gave us palate cleanser's right before our next dish. What i loved about this place, was the creative ideas they had put in together, this totally made them unique!
Dessert:
For dessert we had the 'Jalebi tree', excellent flavors and great taste! Totally felt like it was authentic.
